The balance of the recording is exquisite, as is the case in American stadium concerts, and the sound is not distracted by the noise of the surroundings. In the case of this tour, it would not have been surprising to hear a chorus around "Ruby Tuesday," but the performance was captured well. Above all, Millard's skill in securing and recording the best position on the first day of the tour is a credit to him. In addition, the cuts that occurred mainly between songs were made up in "LOS ANGELES 1989 1st Night" to create a pseudo-complete version for this release. The only cut was at the beginning of "Jumping Jack Flash," which was not included in this release, but if you listen to the beginning of the song, you will realize how easy it is to listen to the Millard recording. By the way, the racy performance of the Steel Wheels Tour during this period is really nice to listen to. More than a month has passed since the start of the tour, and the group as a whole is enjoying the stage as the reunited Stones, free from the awkwardness of the beginning of the tour. Since they visited LA at such a great time of the year, the performance was guaranteed to be great. In fact, all four performances at the LA Memorial Coliseum were at a high level of performance, and the first publicly available Millard recording tells us that they were in great shape from the very first day.
