The Stones 1990 Wembley Stadium FM radio broadcast of July 7 is a classic of all time. This time, we are releasing the best version of the broadcast, which is a completely official-level stereo soundboard recording. Many of the big name concerts at Wembley in 1990 were broadcast by the BBC at the time, but the items from artists like Billy Joel and the Bee Gees were all based on air-checked cassettes. The outstanding quality of the Stones' DAT recordings stood out. The first day at Wembley, which is the first time the Stones have released a CD recording of the show, was also a great performance, but the Stones' favorite conditions of a big city and a large venue, combined with the excitement of a radio recording, made this a truly great performance. That is why the value of the DAT aircheck version of the radio broadcast of the 7th, which offers the best sound quality at the official level, has not yet faded. The other day, Atlantic City, the classic live video from about six months before Wembley, was released officially, but the audio finish, which is strangely modern and seems to have been made with 2020 in mind, has been controversial. In this respect, Wembley, which was broadcast in real time and produced with taste, has a synthesized Steel Wheels/Urban Jungle-era Stones finish. On the other hand, Charlie's bass drumming is prominent on this album, and his drumming at the end of "Midnight Rambler," for example, is tremendous. SEVENTH OF JULY" was the best title of the album, but while it was the best in terms of sound quality, it had a drawback that it was not included because the DAT tape was replaced when the band members were introduced. However, another title released at that time, while inferior in sound quality, had the advantage of including the members' introductions that were broadcast on DAT tape. The point of this release is that the entire broadcast was recorded in the best possible sound quality, and of course, the member introductions were recorded in the stereo soundboard recording of the broadcast. The "Can't Be Seen" by Keith, which was cut from the broadcast, was not recorded using an audience recording (due to the large difference in sound quality between the broadcast and the original recording). The Stones' voltage was quite high on this day due to the combination of the favorable conditions mentioned above. The Stones were in high spirits on this day, and you can clearly hear Mick putting a lot of effort into his singing from the beginning, and Keith's "Happy" runs along at a light tone and fast tempo, which is very typical of the Urban Jungle Tour. In addition to this recording, a stereo soundboard recording of Madrid in June, famous for the performance of "Blinded By Love," has been unearthed, and by comparison, you can feel how spirited the Wembley performance was. The voltage of the band's performance increased even more when they played "Paint It Black," and Keith started to play the lead just before Mick started to sing the introductory verse. Perhaps inspired by him, Mick sings with a lot of energy at the end of the song. The guitar of Keith was captured in a good balance, and after "Street Fighting Man," which was introduced from this tour, his cutting was captured in a crisp and clear manner. The guitar solo in "Sympathy For The Devil" is also very spirited. The finale, "Satisfaction," had the whole band in a ball of fire. And if you listen to the soundboard, you will be amazed at the high voltage of the band members' introductions. Surprisingly, there are not many enthusiasts who have heard this scene on soundboard nowadays. This is the best quality complete broadcast of the Urban Jungle Tour, which has been popular for a long time! Live at Wembley Stadium, London, UK 7th July 1990 STEREO SBD Disc 1 (64:30) 1.
