The "JINX" era was the conclusion of the hard Chrysalis era and the beginning of a return to the blues. Here is the 1st gen. master that allows you to meet Rory Gallagher, who stood at a major turning point in his career. The recording is of the Manchester concert on May 27, 1982. This is a superb audience recording. Although not well known in Japan, "JINX Tour" was the last large-scale tour in Rory's career. First, let's take a look back at the show and see where it was at. 1982: Jan. 16: Offenburg concert, Feb. 28-April 14-29: Europe #1a (34 shows) 《May 2 "JINX" was released》・May 2-June 4: Europe #1b (16 shows)←★here★ ・June 30-July 18: Europe #1b (16 shows)←★here★ ・June 30-July 18: Europe #2a (16 shows) ←here★. June 30-July 18: Europe #2 (4 concerts), August 28: Lorelei ←* ROCKPALAST, September 2-December 15: North America (68 concerts) This was Rory Gallagher in 1982, the first time since 1974/1975, the peak of his career, that he performed over 120 concerts in one year. It was a year of great success for a long time. The main part of the tour was "Europe #1" and "North America," and the Manchester show in this album is the last part of the former. The Manchester show in this album was the 45th concert of the "Europe #1" tour. This album is a clear and brilliant recording of such a show, which is "just like a soundboard". It is the 1st gen master that was recently released to the public, and it has a powerful on-core, sharp outlines that float in the darkness of silence, and fine details ...... just like a soundboard. What is especially surprising is the excellent separation between the ensemble and vocals. The ensemble and vocals are clearly separated, and even the bass, which tends to be muddy, has a clear attack sound, grain by grain. No matter how much Lorrie's guitar goes wild, they do not mix, and the three-dimensionality of the three-piece sound is not destroyed in the slightest. To understand this feeling, you can go to ...... for example, the iconic "ROCKPALAST" pro-shot from 1982. The sound of this recording is equal to or better than the stereo soundboard audio, so much so that if you played each track back one after the other, you would not be able to tell which was the soundboard. It is as if they were recorded on a multitrack. The full show, which can only be described as a "perfect soundboard level," is not unlike the classic "ROCKPALAST" pro-shot. The "ROCKPALAST" show was a special composition that included a saxophone, so it is not surprising that it is different, but the set is also different. Let's compare and sort them out here. Jinxed (6 songs) - Bourbon / Double Vision / Big Guns / The Devil Made Me Do It / Ride On Red, Ride On / Jinxed Others (14 songs) - Top priority: Bad Penny / Follow Me / Philby / Wayward Child / Photo Finish: Brute Force & Ignorance / Shadow Play / Shin Kicker / Others: Tattoo'd Lady (★)/ Out On The Western Plain / All Around Man (★)/ Moonchild/What In The World/Bullfrog Blues (★)/Knock On Wood (★)*Note; Songs marked with "★" were not heard on the big 1982 ROCKPALAST pro shot. ...... and this is what you will find. When we think of Chrysalis-era Rollie, the masterpiece "STAGE STRUCK" comes to mind, but there are plenty of "JINX" numbers that cannot be heard on that album. In particular, "The Devil Made Me Do It" and "Jinxed" are also rare songs exclusive to this tour. And there, with "PHOTO-FINISH" and "TOP PRIORITY," the delicious taste of the Chrysalis era, which approached hard rock, is concentrated. And not only the set, but also the ensemble, which has been replaced from Ted McKenna to Brendan O'Neill, is different from "STAGE STRUCK". This is a matter of taste, but the more diverse rhythm work can be enjoyed in full soundboard quality. After the "JINX Tour," Lorrie terminated his contract with Chrysalis. Due to his poor health, the band's activities were drastically curtailed. The "JINX Tour" was the last tour of his career. This album is a must-hear cultural heritage album that allows you to experience the passion of the last large-scale tour with soundboard-grade vividness. This is truly a must-hear cultural heritage album. This is a superb audience recording of the Manchester show on May 27, 1982. The recording is so clear that it is almost like a soundboard, and even when played alongside the iconic "ROCKPALAST" pro-shot from 1982, it is no less impressive. This is a superb experience of the full show, including many rare "Jinx" numbers such as "The Devil Made Me Do It" and "Jinxed," which are exclusive to this tour.
