With less than a month to go before the TEDESCHI TRUCKS BAND's first Japan tour in three years, the anticipation builds even more as the latest original recording of the band's upcoming Japan tour is now available. The latest original recording of the TEDESCHI TRUCKS BAND is the "April 26th and 27th, 2019 London concert. This is an audience set of two consecutive performances at the famous London Palladium, recorded in its entirety. This year, the band has been more active than usual with the release of their new album "SIGNS," their first new album in three years. First of all, let's take a look at their schedule to see where they are in the show. The London shows in this release are the last two dates of the "Europe" leg, the only two UK gigs in 2019, and this is a 4-CD set that includes two full-length recordings of the entire event. This is a great masterpiece audience recording that is also of excellent quality. Both performances were recorded by the same master recordist, who is well known as a "British master" in our store, a master who combines the realistic atmosphere of DAT recordings with modern clarity. This is a wonderful example of his personality. Especially on the first day, "April 26 (Discs 1-2)," the snare sound has an audience-like quality, but its clear atmosphere is far from a guest recording. The core of the sound that reaches straight to the hand is strong and fresh, and the slight hall rumblings are not cloudy or muddy while giving a glossy appearance. Derek's guitar was clear and precise down to the picking nuance, and Susan's vocals were breathtakingly realistic. Of course, there are differences between the two days due to positional differences, but the same venue, the same equipment, and the same recordist ensure a sense of unity. If the first day (discs 1-2) is the ultra-clear type, the second day, "April 27 (discs 3-4)," is the gorgeous type with a thicker sound, and the individuality and quality of the maestro that underlies it are unshaken in the slightest. The two performances, lasting approximately 4 hours and 45 minutes, are fully immersive. Moreover, this is not just a two-performance set; the TEDESCHI TRUCKS BAND is known for flexibly changing its set, and this is the second consecutive performance at the same venue, and the changes are tremendous. The band played nearly 20 songs on both nights, but there were no duplicates. It is a live album that is like a 5-hour show.
