The Who's "FILLMORE WEST 1968 3RD NIGHT" to be released, as well as the highly acclaimed "FILLMORE WEST 1969 2ND NIGHT" and the Cream series The man who released the 1968 recordings has also released other interesting recordings by the Who. One of them is this 1973 Chicago show. This is of course a part of the "QUADROPHENIA" tour, a date for which no item has existed until now. The recording is not complete, but only up to the middle of "Love, Reign O'er Me," and the pitch is low. The sound image is distant and a bit roaring (lol), which is a bit like vintage audiophile recordings, but it is still a very fresh and valuable source that captures the Who at their peak. The pitch is low, which is the biggest drawback of this precious vintage audio recording, but after some further fine-tuning, the result is much easier to listen to than the original version on YouTube. First, the coarse sound quality was adjusted with equalization, and then, since Roger's voice was captured loudly in a way that the sound image was distant, correcting the pitch deviation turned this balance into a more positive one. This may be tough for beginners, but enthusiasts who are used to audiences will surely be able to enjoy it with a little more time to spare. Above all, this is the unbeatable 1973 QUADROPHENIA tour. Since Pete was in charge of this tour, his guitar playing was less important, and Keith's inexhaustible drumming and Roger's passionate singing were even more impressive. The recording of his singing voice is especially loud, and you can feel the powerful live sound that is unique to the "QUADROPHENIA" tour. Of course, Keith's passionate singing of "Bell Boy" is also captured well, and the balance of the sound from the venue has been improved to make it even easier to hear.
